TWO TABLETS A DAY is the result of a series of radio talks on the Ten Commandments. Oh, those Ten Commandments! Once they were spoken in the desert; now they are engraved on the walls of the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. Are these old words still significant in a modern, sophisticated society that is forced to deal with atheism, corruption, nuclear weapons, and a new sexual morality? Sometimes you wonder.
After reading this book, you realize that the Ten Commandments are rather different from what we took them to be - less obvious than we had hoped, but more intriguing; less strict than we were told, yet more pertinent; less judgmental than we had thought, but more compassionate; much more on target and up to date than many now dare to assume.
TWO TABLETS A DAY wants us to listen to those Ten Commandments again. It may be an opportunity to see these old words with new eyes and meaning. They may turn out to be the best medication there is: Two tablets a day, any time!

Born from parents who cooperated with the Nazis in occupied Holland, the author of this book, William Van der Zee, withstood as a child the shame and suffering his parents caused his family. The Ten Commandments were his beacon. By becoming a minister and being an active pastor in several churches in Holland, he learned to overcome his shame through grace.
